How much water should I drink?
Have you ever wondered why water is so important to everyday living? Well here are some fun facts on how much water you should be consuming.
When it comes to the consumption of water as much as you might not think so it plays a very important and essential role for your general health and diet. Water helps regulate and maintain the body's temperature, transport nutrients and oxygen to your body's cells. It remove toxins from the body, along with helping with the movement of your joints as well as protects tissues and organs.
When it comes to exercise, drinking water can help metabolizes stored fats, help maintain proper muscle tone and most importantly drinking water will prevent dehydration which is very important. Believe it or not if you do not consume the correct amount of water it can actually cause your body to go into a "survival mode" which causes your body to start to retain water along with the possibilities of joint, stomach and back pain, ulcers, dizziness, as well as feelings of disorientation and confusion.
It is hard to tell when the body is actually dehydrated, there is a misconception that it is when you are thirsty however, this is not an accurate way of measuring that. More often than not when you are thirsty you have already begun to go into being dehydrated so this is why it is very important to consume and replenish your bodies with the water.
I bet by now you are asking "Well how much water should I be drinking?" and that is a very good question and although there is not one answer that I can give you because water consumption varies per individual. However, in saying that on a daily basis everyone should be consuming about 2 - 2.5 liters of water per day, and if you are an individual who is exercising that should increase to about 3 - 3.5 liters per day depending on the intensity of your workouts.
So as you can see water is very important for us in our day to day lives.
